The service
luzgasia is a digital energy advisory service. You upload your electricity or gas bill — or give us your consumption data or the CUPS of your supply — and we analyse it automatically and tell you whether you can save by switching tariff. If you are interested, you can contract the proposal from the website itself.
The service works online: you do not need to call us or wait for us to call you in order to complete any step. If you prefer, you can also ask us to prepare it ourselves — by phone, at our office, by email or via WhatsApp — with the details you give us, and nothing is processed until you authorise it.
Free of charge, business model and how we choose the tariff we recommend to you
Analysing your bill and seeing your proposal is free and does not commit you to anything.
We earn money when someone contracts through us: the retailer pays us for the registration. We do not charge you any commission or surcharge: you only pay what the retailer you contract with bills you.
We only compare the tariffs of the retailers we work with, so our comparison does not cover the whole market. We tell you so that you know exactly what you are looking at.
If your electricity comparison includes more than one tariff you can choose, before the result we show you all the ones we have compared and you can keep the one you prefer instead of the recommended one. Those that we cannot calculate reliably for your case are shown separately, without a figure, and cannot be chosen. Whatever you choose is what gets processed.
Our remuneration is not the same with every retailer, and that influences which one we recommend to you. This is the criterion:
- Among the tariffs that save you money, we give preference to those of the retailers with which we have a preferential agreement, which are also the ones that pay us the most, even if another of the tariffs we compare might work out slightly cheaper for you.
- If none of them saves you money, we recommend whichever of the others does.
- If none saves you money, we tell you so and show you the cheapest one. When the split of your consumption by time of day is our own estimate, we allow a small margin of prudence in favour of single-price tariffs.
- We do not recommend variable-price (indexed) tariffs, although you can choose them (section 4).
No commitment
You can abandon the process at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data whenever you wish: if you have an account, with a button inside your area.
Nothing you do on the website binds you until you sign the authorisation to switch retailer. Before signing you will see which retailer you are going to contract with, on which tariff and on what terms.
If a collaborator or our office handles your registration, nothing is processed either until you authorise it and sign it yourself: from the link we send you or, if you asked us at our office, right there or by signing the printed document by hand.
Estimates: what we guarantee and what we do not
The savings we show are always an estimate, calculated from the consumption data on your bill (or, if you do not upload it, from the data you give us or, with your permission, from the data held by your distribution company) and from the prices in force in our catalogue at that time.
Your actual bill will depend on your future consumption, on the applicable taxes and on the regulated prices, which change. That is why we speak of estimated savings and not guaranteed savings.
If, when we read your bill, the figures do not add up for us, we do not give you any figure. We prefer to tell you that we do not know rather than give you a number that we cannot stand behind.
Variable-price (indexed) tariffs. Some tariffs do not have a fixed energy price: it changes with the wholesale market price. For these we cannot give you a certain saving: we estimate their cost using average market prices over the last 30, 180 and 365 days and show you the least favourable case for you. If you choose one, we will ask you to confirm that you understand that its price is not fixed and that we do not recommend it to you. How the market price evolves does not depend on us, and we cannot guarantee any result with an indexed tariff.
Proper use
Only upload bills of which you are the account holder or for which you have the account holder's authorisation. If you upload another person's bill, it is you who is responsible for having had their permission.
It is not permitted to use the website to automate mass queries, extract our price catalogue or interfere with the operation of the service.
Contracting and switching retailer
We only ask you for your DNI/NIE and your IBAN in order to contract: the DNI, to identify you to the retailer; the IBAN, exclusively to set up the direct debit for the supply you contract. The only exception is the comparison by CUPS: there we ask you for the account holder's document number (never a photo), and we only use it to check with your distribution company that the supply is yours if you give us permission to do so; without that permission we do not keep it.
By signing the authorisation you give us a mandate to manage the switch on your behalf: to request from the distribution company the technical data of your supply point, to process the registration with the new retailer and to terminate the previous contract.
That authorisation is voluntary and you can revoke it at any time, without retroactive effect on the steps already carried out.
Switching retailer does not interrupt your supply, and we charge you nothing for handling it. In addition, we review the documentation you upload in order to warn you if anything is not valid before processing anything.
Collaborators programme
Who can be a collaborator. Anyone can register as a collaborator. When you register, your account starts out unverified (level 0): you can see every section, but until we verify it you can only send us your documentation, consult the guides, write to support and manage your account. Once we have checked your identity and your activity (both sides of your DNI or NIE, proof of your activity as a self-employed person or of your company, and your declaration), we give you level 1, with which you create your personal links and earn commissions on the registrations that come through them.
Processing registrations for other people (level 2). You can apply for level 2 by accepting its terms; we review your application and, if appropriate, grant it to you. With it you can open another person's file in order to process their registration. You may only do so if that person has asked you to and has given you their permission beforehand: when you open it you declare this to us, and we write to them so that they can confirm it independently; nothing is processed without their signed authorisation. If they object or do not reply, we destroy their data.
Variable-price tariffs (level 3). Level 3 also allows you to offer indexed tariffs, with the warning required by section 4. We grant the levels and may change them.
What you may not do as a collaborator. You may not send us contact lists or data of people who have not expressly asked you to handle their registration; use the data in a file for any other purpose or disclose it to third parties; or represent luzgasia, promise specific savings on our behalf or present yourself as our employee or agent. While you are handling a file you see that person's full data, including their DNI and IBAN: you are bound to keep it confidential, including after the process has ended.
Financial terms. What you earn depends on whether the registration comes through your link or you process it yourself, and on whether you reach the monthly quota of processed registrations. The percentages, the quota and the number of instalments are those shown in your panel at the time each commission is generated. The amounts you see in your panel are gross: if you are self-employed, we apply to each payment the IRPF withholding you declare to us in your panel. A commission that has already been granted is not modified, not even if those terms change afterwards or you reach the month's quota. If the customer cancels within the guarantee period set by the retailer, the associated commission is clawed back.
Leaving the programme. You can close your collaborator account whenever you want from your panel. When you do, we delete your personal data and keep the commission history without it, because it is an accounting record that we are obliged to retain. The only exception is what we have already paid you: your name, your NIF, the amounts and the withholding applied are kept blocked, solely so that we can respond to the Spanish Tax Agency and until our tax obligations on those payments become time-barred (four years from the end of the period for reporting them); after that, we delete your name, your NIF and the withholding. Payments already committed are paid all the same. Any files you had in progress are taken over by us and do not generate new commissions for you.
Closure of the account by us. We may suspend or close your collaborator account if you breach these terms; the reason is recorded. While the account is closed, no new commissions are generated or granted.
Data protection
The processing of your data is governed by our privacy policy, which explains what we collect, on what legal basis, with whom we share it and how long we keep it.
In short: we analyse your bill because you ask us to, we do not call you to sell you anything unless you have expressly requested it, and you can ask us to delete your data whenever you want (if you have an account, with a button in your area).
Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms. Each version carries its identifier and its date, and relevant changes are communicated to anyone with an active account.
These terms are governed by Spanish law.
Frequently asked questions about switching
These are the questions we are asked most often before switching supplier. If yours is not here, write to us from the contact page.
- Can I be left without electricity or gas during the switch? No. Switching supplier is a regulated procedure that does not interrupt supply: the distribution company is the same before and after, and the only thing that changes is who bills you.
- Do I have to cancel my current contract? No. We process the sign-up with the new supplier, which notifies the distribution company of the switch, and your previous contract ends automatically when the new one starts: you do not need to call or write to your current company.
- How long does it take? For electricity, the regulations (Royal Decree 88/2026) set a maximum of 10 working days from when the contract is formalised, which can be extended by 5 more working days only if some work has to be carried out on the installation. Switching gas follows its own regulated procedure. In both cases, the exact date depends on your distribution company.
- Does switching cost anything? We do not charge you anything. In addition, for household electricity tariffs the law prohibits charging for switching supplier. Only if your contract has a lock-in period could your current company apply a penalty; for electricity, the law caps it at 5% of the value of the energy still to be supplied, and a household contract at a variable price cannot have a lock-in period. Check your contract or ask us.
- Does my meter or installation change? No. Neither the meter, the contracted power nor the installation is touched by switching supplier, unless you expressly request a power change.
Invite and earn
If you have a customer account, you can invite other people with your personal link. For each person who takes out a contract through your link, you are entitled to a €25 coupon: when we process their sign-up, we will contact you to apply it.
The person you invite gets the same free analysis and does not pay any more for coming through your link. You will only see that someone you invited moved forward or signed a contract, never their name or their details. To remember the invitation we use the “lg_amigo” cookie, which is only installed if that person accepts the optional cookies (cookie policy, section 3).
Advertising and promotions
We advertise this service on search engines and on other platforms. Our ads and commercial communications identify us as the advertiser, and any savings figures they mention are estimates calculated using the same criteria that we apply on the website (section 4).
If we run a promotion, we will publish its terms (duration, requirements and amount) alongside it, and those terms will prevail for that promotion.
